As time goes by, great changes have occurred to people’s life as well as their ways to celebrate the Chinese New Year. However, in my opinion, going back hometown for family reunion, the traditional celebrating way, is the still a good way to spend this red-letter festival.
The reasons for this way which I advocate are not only because it is a ceremonious and important traditional festival for us Chinese to hand on by generations, but because it is an extremely good chance for people to get together, enjoying their precious reunion time. Spring Festival is commonly known as the families’ and friends’ reuniting time. On one hand, to some people, who have always worked outside their hometown or in cities, returning home for this festival is their greatest aspiration. On the other hand, they can live several happy and relaxing days in their hometown without any annoyance and pressure about their regular jobs. After all, home is the warmest harbor. In fact, it is also a good trip along which is overflowing with the festive and peaceful atmosphere of New Year. It is better than go out to other places for a travel.
In brief, going back home and staying with families and friends by convention is really a good way to celebrate the Lunar New Year, no matter where you are and how the era goes.
