The most important thing I want to change about my hometown

As a witness of the new birth of the concrete roads, street lamps and newly-built houses in my hometown, I am very proud of its quick development. However, on the road to build a well-off society in an all-round way, the most important thing I think to change about my hometown mainly lies in enriching the people’s intellectual and cultural lives.

In view of the present situation, most of the youth in the country region depart from their hometown for making a living, leaving their old generations alone at home. The old people seem to spend their lifetime with the broad farms, which is humdrum and boring. Therefore, some actions to color them are in great need to be taken. In my opinion, to build a square with a series of keep-fit equipment is the most effective way to enrich their lives. It can not only exercise their body, but also drive their loneliness away. Then some public entertainment places, such as the opera houses, free-talk rooms, mah-jongg or another traditional card playing houses, should be built for them to develop their hobbies and amuse and relax themselves. And more and more dramatic performances should be held to arouse their passion to their lives.

In addition, it is of vital importance to broaden the horizon of the children living in the countryside and develop them comprehensively. Therefore, libraries and athletic facilities should be built, various competes or activities should be held, more excellent teachers should be employed, more advanced teaching equipment should be introduced, so that the children can receive more chances to promote themselves.

Lastly, no matter how to change, we must start from the interests of the masses. The cultural life should be made colorful and keep pace with the economic development.
